Holy  Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments.  Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission.  CCC1213

Refer to the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) paragraphs 1213-1284 for more detailed information on this sacrament.

Our children's faith education begins at birth with parents as the primary teachers.  Our Holy Cross parish community can offer support to the parents in many ways throughout their lives, but ultimately, it is the parents that influence their children the most.

Parents of candidates for Baptism are expected to be registered, participating, contributing members of the parish.

Parents are asked to choose someone to serve as a Godparent or sponsor for their  child.  Godparents play a very important role in your child's spiritual life and  should serve as a role model of the faith.  The Catholic Godparent must be at  least 16 years old and be mature enough to understand, accept, and carry out the duties of a Godparent.

Please contact the parish office if you would like to schedule a baptism.
