Deacon/Priest
Ordination to the priesthood and diaconate is a sacramental commissioning that empowers men to serve in roles of leadership in the Church and act in the name of Christ and the Christian community with the promised assistance of the Holy Spirit. The Sacrament of Holy Orders confers an indelible mark on the soul of the deacon, priest or bishop. The bishops descend from the twelve apostles and it is from the bishops that a Pope is elected.
